Labyrinth Seal

Gas turbines for power generation and industrial applications employ labyrinth seals to improve gas path efficiency. These seals generally have a very complex geometry and are both difficult and costly to produce. Over time, the teeth can become damaged as a result of unintentional rubs against honeycomb or other abradable surfaces, thereby reducing their effectiveness.

Seal teeth to be rebuilt are pre-machined by the customer
The seal is inspected by our service center and a suitable repair strategy developed, including the material to be used for the repair
Programming and final program adjustments are implemented
Restore damaged areas using laser cladding
Post inspection before being returned to the customer for final machining
