Amdry 805 and Amdry 806A are low-cost iron-based braze filler metals (specifically, ferrous-chromium-based alloys) designed to braze like nickel-based filler metals. It is to be used to join deep, narrow gaps. It brazes in the same temperature range as AWS BNI-5. Braze Amdry 805 in a vacuum furnace. Joints have very good corrosion resistance and ductility. It is compatible with most types of steels, stainless steels, nickel- and cobalt-based superalloys. It is available as a powder but can be ordered as a paste or customized tape on request.
