Metco 8250 is a composite wire comprised of a manganese steel compatible hardfacing overlay with an austenitic matrix and a high carbide fraction for wear and extreme abrasion resistance. In many mining processes where manganese steel is used, gouging or wear occurs before the steel has a chance to work harden. It is designed to be applied using GMAW or GTAW welding processes. Overlays of Metco 8250 work harden quickly in service to ≥ 63 HRC.
