Metco 1030A is a cost-effective, martensitic alloy with fine molybdenum borides and vanadium carbides. It has excellent performance in aggressive environments where impact and abrasive wear are critical sources of failure. The chromium-free composition enables a safer processing environment. Impact performance can be as much as 20-times that of WC-Ni and more than 4-times better than chromium carbide overlays or nanostructured forming steels. It has a coarser size distribution than Metco 1030B.
