Metco 18C is a cobalt-based, self-fluxing alloy powder with an approximate fused hardness of HRC 48 to 52. It is recommended for use on substrates that may have cracking issues such as alloyed steels and 400 series steels. Approximate fusing temperature: 1121 °C. Laser cladding application is recommended, but may also be applied using PTA or puddle welding. It produces relatively hard deposits that can be finish ground using a diamond or silicon-carbide wheel.
