Metco 51019A is a blend of spherical cast tungsten carbide and nickel-chromium-boron-silicon matrix. It can be applied using PTA or spray and fuse welding. The matrix provides a balance of hardness and ductility with a low propensity for cracking. Deposits on tooling for oil and gas and other markets can see as much as a 300% life improvement compared to conventional tungsten carbide surfaces. It protects against erosive fluids and 2- and 3-body abrasion on drill bits.
